Can you explain why my 2000w amp 1500 10" sub does not play loud enough to hear it over the 1200w amp with my 2 2x9s 2 6.5s I the door I all so have 300 w tweeter on the dash that sounds great!. But for the life of me can't understand why the sob does not keep up?. Out of all the guys I know no one is that deep in car tunes. Thank You very much.

(DasRusse) Sooo... A friend of mine got his first car not long ago and it came with an active subwoofer build into it already. And i think we all know that they really don't do the greatest job. Since he doesn't have a lot of money to spend i thought of stripping the speaker, building it's own enclosure and connecting it to an amplifier. This is probably not the easiest job and I don't know if it's even gonna work how i imagine it. The woofer itself is an "Eton RES 11" 11 inch subwoofer with 200Watts RMS. Finding the right amplifier shouldn't be that big of a deal, but i really don't know where to start with the enclosure for the subwoofer since I can't get any information for how big it should be, etc... Maybe someone here got any idea where or even how to start?

(Greg Benwell) A while back I was on Craig's List when I read a "rant and rave" post by some idiot kid who wanted a "Real Car Audio System" BUT according to him brands like JL Audio, Pioneer, Alpine, Boston Acoustics, Kicker, Rockford and other WELL KNOWN NAME BRANDS were "junk"........instead he DEMANDED that his "car audio dreams" were only to include brands like Sound Stream and some off brand of speaker I have never even heard of myself (and I have been around car stereo equipment since the 1970s)!!! I owned a Sound Stream head unit once, it was poorly made and quit working after just three months.......which is WHY I have no if not ZERO FAITH in the brand! It honestly reminded me of the cheap Kraco and Sparkomatic systems that you could buy at KMart in the late 1970s in fact with the exception that the cheap Sparkomatic and Kraco stuff would continue to work even when parts of it failed like lights and so on!! I just wanted to point out that there are some idiots out there that wouldn't know what "quality components" are.....and think "cheap crap" is going to work like equipment that has a 40 plus year (or more) name and development behind their products is my point!!

I saw you use some sort of "grommet" port for the speaker wire to exit the box. What is that peice exactly, and would it work for a sealed box application as well? (Smurfeco 2.3) Jl subs aren’t even all that . I had the w6 with the jl amp . I had to go back to kicker l7 q class . Knocks way harder . Mad respects for the jl amps though definitely recommend those 500 watts lifting two 10s l7 q class like nothing .

With 2 tweeters, 2 mids and an outboard sub I'd want a 4 channel amp right?

I've realized i have bit of ALOT more then i can chew, i used to run that same JL sub but i now have the Alpine's SWR-1242D 12" and R-W12D4 ( Killer haha ) to soon be powered with the Audio DM2500a monoblock, (dual battery and isolator with capacitor), i was intending on making the port start at the back of it as it comes up and over the top via slim port, but after seeing your setup wrap around, I'm so lost in how to make something like that and have to perform to its peak (cubic inches inside the box i didn't think of optimizing its performance, something i didnt think of with all my sketches) i have a EK 99 Civic hatch (Almost type R Civic with type R subs 😜), i was wondering if you may have any advice on what i should really be doing and making for these subs to get my boot popping off its hinges 😂

Find make a removable box I always have the.v amplifier mounted somewhere out of the way then put a quick disconnect for the speaker wire and then a second quick connect that completes the connection for the remote turn on that way the amplifier will not come on until you put the speaker back in

(marsrover001) I'm that next video, could you talk about mounting the amp to the box and if you believe the vibrations will affect amp lifespan. I personally keep my amp mounted separately for this reason. Not to mention in many cars you can hide the amp very well and just use connectors like the speaktron to allow easy box removal. I just don't see or understand the need for amp removal.

(Dad with Kids) I just hide my amp and the wires under the rear trunk we’re the rear tire is. That way I just have to unhook the box and remove it. Plus I think mounting the amp to the box is not safe for it. The build you just did is awesome. I could see that in a soccer moms Mercedes and she would have all the dads looking at her when she pulled up.

(Robert Burky) Entry level is some OSB, drywall screws, and liquid nails. I’m no JL audio fanatic but I have had great results even with the W0 12 in a small stealth fiberglass enclosure I built for a Camaro.

I put it in my car and connect the woofer directly to my infinity amp (bridged) the bass is not tight and tons of rattling. Is there a different between car subwoofer and home theater subwoofer?
