(JERSDUNZ) If you can't afford a drill press .. you can't afford car audio as a hobby.. have have to build a foundation before building a house.. get your damn tools.
(Shaun Richardson) I am a pretty good box builder myself 30yrs+ and im still learning new things from your channel💯... Good Work
(Toàn đan nguyên) No 3 👎
(Mr. Kameena.00) Sir, I need a design of box.
(socomcygnusx1) This man is so awesome I don't have words....I need help can I has your emails
(Len M.) Would a 4th order work for 2 DD 6.5’s? Like your box, but mirrored so one sub is on the left in a sealed chamber and one on the right in a sealed chamber, then both sharing one common ported chamber. Or a 6th order again with them sharing one common middle ported chamber with one left ported chamber and one right ported chamber.
(Narcolepsykid) I've been wanting to put 4 ported shallow mount 12s in my van and still have room for passengers.
(Ghost Ship) Use the band pass boxes for bass only bro
(Sean) Really enjoy your video. Been building speakers for 30+ years. I have a fondness for bandpass and folded horns as well. Also transmission lines but so difficult to build and calculate. Decware has great cheap not free bandpass plans, very highly recomended.
(JAMES SLONE) Do u build And sell
(Nico Ras) The bass is terrible never heard such bad sounding muddy and distorted bass. Sorry this sounds like rubbish.
(Notsofast L) If you don’t have a drill press, you can buy a drill guide block or egg cup and bushing guides to help drill straight with a handheld drill.
(KOLOR KLASH) Can you please say the title of the 2nd to last track.
(c s j) To seal up a removable panel, what I use is "Composeal". It's actual use is for making shower floors watertight. It's really thin at less than 1/16", is super cheap and available at any home improvement store or plumbing supply house.
(Joshy C.J) Can I have get the measurements of 8",100watts,6th order subwoofer?
(valorantorion) Also id love to see a passive radiator build with this little sub
(valorantorion) He sounds like Steve harvey im just messing around lol but its an amazing video this is also something I've wanted to do but given my age im broke so thats always fun but wouldn't recommend but about the 3 to 1 if u want just loud yes thats the way to go but there will be a very narrow frequency response u may hit 60hz but anything before and after that u dont get a lot of let alone loud im not hating at all I love this vid but there is a guy that is on yt as well that did a video called bandpass myths and it explains what the ratios do from sealed to the ported side
(matt daughtry) Would that be an easier build using pve pipe for the ports? I built an. Awesome 6th order for an 8" years ago that n sounded like 2 12"
(Jose Cabrera Zuniga) How do you design the geometry of the speaker boxes?
(Filiberto Fonseca) No diss but the vented enclosure does not look at all like a . 3cu. ft. It looks like the others next to it at .8 cu. ft.
(MaNNeRz Laguna) That intro tune was straight out of a British home design TV series
(Carl Thornton) Very Good!..
(_Jadori _) Love the builds. I'm sure you've heard this before but you sound like Steve Harvey
(sachin kumar) What will be the size for a 6 inch woofer for a bandpass box?
(hippo potamus) On a 4th order is there a difference as to which part of the subwoofer goes into the sealed chamber? I've seen boxes where subwoofer fires into the sealed chamber and others where the magnet is inside the sealed chamber. Does it not matter?
(Lexius Nez) I have a 6.5" Klipsch sub that I want to do this to. It has a rating at 65watt RMS and 100watt peak.
(James Carr) @ 39:06 Big "D" Wiz? Williston Audio Labs........
(jason reed) Thank you for posting, LOTS OF GREAT INFO HERE!, i did car audio for about 8 years back in the late 80's to early 90's, and built many enclosures, tech was not nearly what it is today, used an old RF nomograhm (sp?) for port info, one tip, a really good jig saw will make your life much easier, i liked the De Walt, BE SAFE!
(Yamazaki1923) On the 6th order, would you see a db improvement if you put the out of phase ports facing opposite directions? Sub newbie here.
(Russell McNeil) Look for a good Homie
(Mr S) I love this kind of content. I'm really curious to see how the 4th and 6th order band pass compare to the vented enclosure. Nicely done!
(Veritas Vincit) Nice
(Jason Cohoon) Awesome! Would love to find plans for a 6th order for a dual 4ohm 6 1/2 low power but space is the case. Any ideas? Gonna install in a golf cart. Ha!
(jermaine johnson) Would you have any plans for 6.5?
(Bham Drone and Tech) another trick on getting the wood to not split instead of vice grips is to hit the screw or bit with a torch and go i slow. works magic.
(Matthias Fuchs) Hi. I am glad I found your Vids. I am just building a 6th ord bandpass because of your inspiration 😊 I got a question. What’s the app for the decreasing frequency output ? Thanks Matthias
(Claude Archary) Hey there, I like your content and you clearly have a great knowledge, experience and most importantly you have a passion for your trade, so yeah man good job. Now I have heard that while band pass boxes really are amazingly great with the deep bass, and I speak with experience of my own as well with a 12” Sony sub. Mouthwatering bass! Problem was that you didn’t really hear it from outside the car. Also not very stable. I’m looking for something, more like a ported enclosure for nice all round performance. I’m running a Jbl 10” Shallow mount Club1000 which has a nifty switching built on it for switching between 2ohm or 4 ohm as you prefer. I’m rocking that on a Kicker amp, 400rms I think. 2 ohm monoblock. I’m really struggling with space to make use of. I use my van as a private car and also for work, so I can’t use loading space. Is love to chat more if it interests you. I think you’d be interested in my work I’ve done so far. All outside the box thinking to challenge myself to be unique and still maintain my budget limits. Take care, and hopefully you can respond back
(Bob Keller) I am needing to make a small subwoofer for a guy. I made a small Bluetooth radio for him awhile back and now he wants a powered sub to hook up to it. I have a bose 111791-k driver out of a accoustimass 25 that I need to use. Not sure what style of box will be best for this guy. Anyone have suggestions? This was a great video....now I'm more confused. Lol
(dead6last) You do a great job on the video's
(tyler238) Do you ever sell any of the subs you test to fund other projects?
(Atmospheric Pressure) Ok, so why do 4th orders sound so damn good to me but 6th orders give you a wider bandwidth?
(EricTheBoringOne) I’m pretty sure that you actually have 1/2” particle board instead of MDF. MDF is very tightly compacted and comprised of basically dust sized particulate matter so it won’t have that rough grainy and crumbly texture like particle board. Particle board is compressed and glued like MDF but it’s particulate matter is much larger in size and the particles range in size unlike the uniform particle size in MDF.
(EricTheBoringOne) I like how clear and concise you were while still being thorough. Some advice on the threaded inserts though, put a couple drops of wood glue on the outer threads so they won’t pull out easily because those tapered inserts are going to pull out of that thin particle board so easily.
(EricTheBoringOne) I have a black and decker jigsaw that’s probably 10-15 years older than the one you showed. It’s made of a really smooth shiny plastic that is that ugly puke green that was popular in the mid and early 70s
(dead6last) mdf is garbage.. 3/4 inch.. even screws split it ,, drilled or not
(DJ WRAITH) That port one you built sound way better than the sealed one! Man! Sound so much richer sound! Great build and for such a small speaker sounds Amazing!
(BudgetBassHead) Checkout My Top 5 of 2020: https://youtu.be/TWno63VeQbM
(Steven Pan) can you test the other two for comparison?
(Tmanstomp100) I just wanna say, your way of tersting this is a lot better than most peoples, and I didn't expect the porting to do ALL THAT like wow, makes me wanna make a ported box for my 8 inch goldwoods
(Justin S.) Those Dayton MK 402x speakers sound good when powered by that 2.1 plate amp and the 6 1/2" subwoofer kit from Parts Express.
(John sweda) Use a drill bit with countersink on it if you're putting in metal screw inserts I think you should have taken the internal baffle port right up to the top of the speaker giving you a quarter wave transmission line. Plenty of of dampening material go with natural wool fleece
(Mark Bushinski) Enjoyed the video. The bandpass subs should stay as subs. Otherwise there will be a hole in the midrange.
(M1LAN) if i am making a new 4th order box i want to have the top in acrylic i think that would look sick and you see the sub moving
(Robert Jefferson) Sketchup isn't free any more, but I did use it to design my first boxes. I used FreeCAD now and I generally like it for designing but there's limitations in texturing and fancy stuff. I don't mind.
(Petrezen1982) B R A V O to you Sir. That's a very good job. Cheap, small, quality builds. That's something.
(James Hoverson) Which one is your favorite?
(Scott Free) Can you do a sound test? Between the 4th order and 6th order. Would very much like to hear the difference between the two.
(John Collins) Love the videos. Suggestion, Pick up a couple of cheap corner clamps from harbor freight instead of using a speed square or whip up a jig if you make enough boxes No more fighting with them and you can make sure they will be 90* every time.
(lotta money) Hey its Steve Harvey I'm going to show you my speaker build .me👍
(Rikard Ekvall) Great video and videos! You do know how to be low.... :-) Q: If I use your mesurement of the 6th order bandpass, can I turn it into a 6th order bassreflex? Same port length. Get the same low bass, as you have calcultated?
(UltraNuggz) Passive Speaker... not Slave! PC!
(XYNTAXIS ERROR) Thank you for your videos!
(Rory Robinson) what was the test music?
(Flyingwigs) i'd like to make a box for my 2 dc-160-4 6.5 in speakers, a 4th bandpass, but i'd like to have the speakers face each other behind a clear window. would i be able to just add the volume of the sealed chambers together and have the subs firing at the same time (+,+) or should they be treated as isobaric in the joint chamber (+,-)?
(Paul Cherry) Man I love your content ,best dude on budget audio, and man you got some awesome build skills
(young feezy) I built the vented enclosure. I have the same dayton speaker. It sounds great! Thank u. Keep up the great work. I love this channel
(Andres Alvarez) Hello! Nice channel and information dude! I'm from Chile and I'm obsessed with 4th order bandpass for mini subs since the 90s with Aiwa old home mini hi-fi systems!
(The secret of life82) Thank you great video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
(Guilherme Rocha) Nice, do et!
(newport2926) Nice work. Thnx for your time and effort. This is going to take my Bluetooth builds to the next level
(young feezy) The the speaker a dayton audio tcp115 ? Because i have 2 of them im interested in building a better box for it
(Mstr Unknown) So cool you did this.
(nobody's favourite) Dang so the Pioneer is powering your build? They go hard! Love the effort you put in!
(Eiron Decilos) can i get measurements for 8inch woofers and subwoofers
(HomeTheatre101) Love the mini builds! Loud bass from smaller subs is always more surprising than from the bigger subs. Would be cool to see you make a box like the the Bose Acoustimass 15 ii
(Ruthless legion) Sweet... Thought I was the only mini obsessed builder lol love bandpass as well, pure depth.
(Don Davis) i must say i do like your videos man, good info and effort into this video.
(bringmeyourweak) I also recommend counter sinking and glueing your insert nuts. Note longer bolts again.
(bringmeyourweak) Glad to see you going for that folded horn build. I suggest when you go full Transmission line that you do it with a 12" woofer. Do a reaction video when testing. I love to see the joy that appears upon completion and hearing it for the first time. Thanks for your amazing videos sir!
(Xguy75) Definitely hear a difference. Since box is designed to play with a bit; I would like to see if there is any difference if you add a bit of poly fill to the box. Just for experiment. I really appreciate your videos. Always looking forward for more.
(DesigNate) Great vid man, i gotta say you put alot of time and effort into this video and we all appreciate the content. I can tell a big difference between the audio on headphones. The ported box you made sounds louder, and just goes to prove that the box makes all the difference. I would like to see you try the 4th and 6th order boxes as a bookshelf speaker and put the crossover inside and tweeter in the front. I liked the video alot!
(Nexxo) Great video my friend, can you plot the responses in Smaart or REW for a better comparision? Thank you
(Jerry G Ramirez) Hell ya iv been waiting for this vid. I love the content😋👍
