(Travis Gulley) If you were to make the port on a prefabricated subwoofer enclosure longer in length would the tuning frequency end up being lower

(Travis Gulley) When you crank the volume up to 78 percent on a powered 15 inch subwoofer is the spl above 115 decibels and too much for your ears to handle

(Travis Gulley) Can a old 12 inch guitar amplifier cabinet be used as a subwoofer enclosure for a 12 inch car subwoofer.

(Travis Gulley) Will 2 Dayton audio ultimax 18 inch subwoofers in a ported enclosure break the windows in a room if the house is really old and if the windows themselves are really old

(Marc Wolfe) Based on your graphs, I want a small box with a ludicrous port.

(Russell Hamner) I wish I could tune out the voices in my head.

(Travis Gulley) If you enlarged a 10 inch cutout hole on a 10 inch subwoofer enclosure to fit a 12 inch subwoofer into the enclosure would you suffocate the subwoofer itself or possibly block the vent on the back of the subwoofer itself if the subwoofer ends up getting mounted into the enclosure itself after enlarging the cutout hole.

(c20 np143) I may be late to this party, but thats only because I was a late bloomer. But I still bloomed lol. Is it possible for a 6th order not to be tuned 🤔? Say a 6th series tuned bandpass where both chambers are identical and both feed each other. Neither being necessarily front or rear? Heck of a bandwidth from 28 to 72 hz, but not necessarily a peak. Only asking to understand tuning. The gentleman that designed this enclosure insist there's no real tuning. So again I appreciate your input or opinion. Thanks again and I look forward to more of your video

(Ex Islaam now being an Insaan[A Human]) Great! 👌You described properly .... Very informative 👍

(johnnyboy0g) Which software is used to markup the enclosures? SketchUp?

(Bo Spurgeon) I’m just grabbing at this video hoping the comments can still get a reply. Is there a general consensus on the use of bent ports? Like just a 90 with double flares?

(Travis Gulley) If you took a 15 inch pro audio dj subwoofer that has a frequency response range of 40 hertz to 2000 hertz and slapped it into a prefabricated 15 inch car audio subwoofer enclosure that is tuned low around 25 hertz will it still hit low and still produce deep bass.

(Travis Gulley) Can you use round metal duct pipe from the Home Depot to make a port for a ported subwoofer enclosure.

(rando man) Laughing so hard at the types of answers I get when going to Google for audio info. I searched "is cold weather bad for your subs?" Here's what I found lol: *How do you warm up subs?* take the top off the sub, put the sub on some aluminum foil, turn your oven on broil, put your sub in the oven for like 3 minutes (just stay close by, you'll smell when it's done depending on how much stuff is on your sub), remove sub from oven, reconstruct, devour

(Travis Gulley) Can a 10 inch cutout hole on a 10 inch subwoofer enclosure be enlarged to fit a 12 inch subwoofer if so will it be a tight fit for the subwoofer and cause the subwoofer to not sound the best.

(Kostas Psx) how calculate square port ?

(Travis Gulley) If you tuned a ported subwoofer enclosure to 100 hertz will the subwoofer still produce loud bass.

(Edward Rivera) Looking to build a sub box for a single cab Silverado for a 8inch sub or 10inch sub do you have any recommendations on box plans?

(kerry forides) Can a box be tund at 50hz ?

(Ashley Kellow) Ive learned loads these are great videos!! 🙏 Does it matter if the port extends out of the box?? Im building the box for structural sound but im constricted a little with space so would be ideal to make the port longer for obvious reasons, im going to fibreglass over top wich will hide it all and look awesome in the boot of my car for the end design i have in my head.

(Gordy Kilcollins) Your explaining exactly what I've been HEARING for years now. I didn't want to figure out the formula for myself, and I assumed someone had already done that

(Reverbae) Hey My Prefab Subwoofer Box Tuned At 35Hz Is It Good If Not How To Get It More Lower I Am New At This Please Help😊

(Evren Odabas) hello i have cervin vega wmax 15.2 and i couldn't manage to make a box for it can you help me thank you so can you make me a box sizer

(Catherine Harris) Question: How long should my 2 8inch aero ports need to to be for my 14cft box? I'm installing 3 Resilient Sounds Team 18's subwoofers in it and i want to tune it to around 32 to 35hrz. Please help me, thanks👍

(Grew K) DO you do custom box designs? I Need some stuff designed in sketchup so it can be CNC cut. Thanks

(Cro Magnon) Is there a definitive formula or correction for calculating a flared port length?

(joelthomas79) Actually the first box is practical in a center mounted design on an Aventador. Between the two seats is roughly 12 inches, behind the seats is only 4”.

(Landon Fields Outdoors) Port on my latest box build is 4.75” x15.5” x22.25” 2 15s tunes to 30.6 hz

(Chubbs Anthony) Great video boss

(Luis Barron) Ok so I have a box that is tuned to 33hz . My subwoofer can go as long as 28hz. Should I make the vent on my box with less cubic fit to make it a 28hz .?

(Bishop Vargas) Heh had a 5.0 cu ft box in a cobalt with an hdc 3 15 on 2000 rms, ridiculous

(Jerrett Armstrong) I want to know about using 2 round ports compared to 1 bigger round port

(marcus Elee) So I put a 4in round port on my box with a 15in sub ......the port has a 45degree corner piece , it measures 12inches to that corner piece, to the lowest point of port measures approx 15 inches ....3.3 cu ft , box is made with 1.5in conference table, sub is black brick audio, anyways my question is if I were to put another 4in port next to the other one, chop off the angle piece, how long would each port need to be? The correct port length for what I'm trying to get (31hz)is 7.75in with a single,so would 2 4in ports be about 4in long or 14in?

(Gian Stevens) What about cabin gain? Why would you want your F3 to be around 25hz if most vehicles love to extend low end. Usually when porting boxes and tuning that low my experience is that you'll have lows but no highs.

(Subdynoman) Amazing info, I had planned on physically building some of these boxes to verify the differences. My question is at what point should you decide to have a chamber at all. In example I built a 12 ft front loaded single fold tapered horn for truck blow through build. It's about 29hz tuning fq. I'm wondering now if I should have built it with some chamber to help load it at the higher frequencies. I'm going to have a bunch of questions for you in the near future, look forward to your wisdom. 👍🔊✌

(Dracolegacy) what happens to air velocity when the port goes from 1x12 to 1x36?

(Sorrow Song) Gad dam this dude knows his shit! I eat this stuff up

(Preston) I've watched this video like 6 times while making my first box. Thank you

(aaron koh) I would love to fly you over all expenses paid and build s%#t with me nonstop for a few weeks. I bet my learning curve would be way faster 😅

(Greg K) Your videos are maybe the best for us DIYers. I tried WINISD and find it has a mind of its own. Entered sub data and it changed many entries, same units but a different number. Also have a serious conflict comparing 2 subs in the same box, one gives port velocity of 20+ while other is near 2. Could not bring them close after manipulating most sub T/S parameters. I really do not like WinISD despite its free. I got what I paid for.

(Ganesh KC) One of the best explanation in one of the most simplest words .. Thank you so much

(Eric Flowers) So I love lows and am about to build my box ported. The box I have designed has a tuning of 37 hertz . Is that low enough or should I try to go a little lower

(arnicus208) I’ve watched numerous videos on this channel, and I definitely get the feeling he doesn’t like sealed enclosures

(Rob Allen) Every time someone says "rule of thumb" I want to get a switch and hit them with it. No thicker than my thumb of course.

(Joe Roman) I've never seen a subwoofer enclosure with an external port.

(SeGin) Is there a chuffing difference between lets say 20m/s air velocity through a 4" diameter port and 20m/s air velocity through a 6" diameter port?

(agg hell) I was looking for a port explanation and i found it. New subscriber here !!!

(Randy Baltimore) Thanks alot, I'm starting to understand alot more !!

(Robert Jefferson) I have a box I built that's 4.7 cu. Ft. Tuned at 26Hz with a 5x20 inch port for 100sq in. Port area. It has some T-line properties and peaks at 28Hz. Can't throw more than about 400 watts at the GW-124 walmart sub in it because of the volume, but it gets dumb low

(Feedrate 138.) Love all the hard work you put in to your channel. Definitely one of my favorite channels!!🤘🤘🤘

(Turbo Duckhead) What would happen if you take the 1ft cube box and make the vent "snake" on the outside of the box. Like a T Line box, add lots of 90 degree bends on the port, outside the box, to compact the overall length of the port and make the overall size of the box more compacted. I hope that makes sense.

(a 6) Quality video

(sachin kumar) What will be the subwoofer box measurement calculator for 6 inches bandpass box

(Mike White) Fantastic video. Best one I've found explaining the difference. I've built alot of boxes and had to just learn by trials and errors. This is badass.

(SoXD) Hello , what's the app you use to design and see results of these boxes ?

(Tom Lademann) 7 29/64" xD just use metric

(Black Forest turkey breast) Hey diy audio guy! Could i contract you to design a box for me?

(Triggah) Can you explain horn enclosures and the benefits?

(Awestruck Audio Hertz) Another excellent video, thanks for taking the time to explain this in terms pretty much anyone can understand. We are always learning!

(Ako lng To) do you have fb or messnegr account sir? I dont have a gmail cxount or i forgot. I want to tune my prospect size of mya box, but i do not konw the correct messuremwnt of the port. I like low freq. and loud or for all genre ,usic. Here is my box. L-26” W-17” H-13.5” That is an outside surface measurement. .. can u help me please sir? For the port only . Anyway Lported type box and 12”subwoofer is cheper ang mde in china😅 From🇵🇭 i hope u help me sir for the port only

(Dry Water) I remember spending months teaching myself this stuff back in highschool. Wish you were around back then lol

(hobart666) A minute and a half in and I'm reminded of Goldilocks & the Three Bears.

(remy5405) Nice. Picking up where hexibase dropped the ball.

(Paul Morrison) Great information! If you could tell me the port length i need for a 7.5cf box for 2 kicker L7's I'd greatly appreciate it. I want a tune of 32hz👍

(roof pizza) Combining cubic feet and inches with meters per second. Americans.

(Nicolas Garcia) hi love your videos but i need your help i would like to hire you to help me bild a box i have a 10'' sub that needs a 3cubic ft and a 1.25 1.5 i have the lengths for the box but i dont realy understand how to tune it at 35hz

(Richard Alvis) Got a question for you. This video was a foreign language for me. I believe in lost technology. All the pyramids in the world I think were frequency built. Question is this. Pyramid build boxes? I know cubit feet is cubit feet. The 90 degrees in a box have to bounce around a certain way right? A bass tube bounces or suppresses diffirently right? What would a pyramid box do? Again, Im ignorant when it comes to all this mumbo jumbo your talking about. Hasn't been my path. Are you into experimenting?

(Richard Alvis) Boxes, the best of them, flex more than that measurment.

(Richard Alvis) It was trivialized saying 29/ 64ths.😆👍

(theo lang) good vids, shame its in imperial units, rather than metric

(Valentina Valero) Subtitled.

(Valentina Valero) Very interesting but, in spanish. Thank you.

(pramudith wenusara dias) Can i please know the simulation software that you used. I'm from sri lanka i really appreciate your videos i also need to do know the math. Me and my brother making subwofers & speaker boxes since 2009. I need to know how to do calculations and frequency tunning in new way. Still we only use our experience and practical knowledge to made boxes.. I hope you will reply this..

(Covencraft) Why doesn't anyone make a video for people who aren't rocket scientists? For example, take the vas and do this, etc

(Gevy Biazon) whey sir why dont you try watch filipino living in iloilo their battle sounds for your reference and satisfactions..

(TsarCasm) Awesome, thanks a lot!👌

(Bassotronics) Another thing to note is depending on where there port opening finishes (near the enclosure or far from the enclosure) will also affect tuning despite the length due to different frequencies having different wavelengths. Port location is also crucial to the overall frequency response. (Phasing).

(Sven Eisenhauer) Ah, finally a tutorial that puts this into better perspective. Thanks! Now, please also build the boxes and show us and you’ll have friends forever...! 🤗😇

(Ry) great summary , but we all know the guy with the 5ft ported box is the same guy your gf told you not to worry about

(Great Army) What software used for check response frequency...at your video....thanks before.....

(Gabby Hernandez) Mid-frequency and high-frequency sounded very very terrible why

(Gabby Hernandez) If I'm wrong I think I was tuned at tuned at 27 or 28hz

(Gabby Hernandez) 6.5 cubic feet would be tuned at what

(Dennis Nattkämper) Xmax is the reason why i go 3 or 6 db below the max this works very well and over 100db is a good trade off for sound quality

(Rak Kup) Absurdly is absurdly subjective ✌🏼

(Michael Volz) I like to think of it with one of those pull whistles that you blow in and pull the bottom. The longer the vent / longer out you pull the whistle end, the lower the note. That's just to grasp the concept tho, nothing specific.

(Chris Crockett) Excellent information. I just received 2 - 12” kicker comp Q. I love rock , metal and old school rap. Will this be better for a sealed enclosure????

(MADE by Aneeshmurali) Which software is this that showing all the graphs and analysis ?

(Rax Pax) ported vs passive radiator

(Vikas SM) Me after this video: I KNOW KUNG FU!!

(Ashley Malone) THIS is where I need to expand my knowledge. Good info.

(Tover Yonder) great vid bro👍 i am wondering adout the 2 cu.ft. box tuned to 24hz, if you put a lowpass @44hz wouldn't that sound the best? and get rid of moat of the "problems" with that design? i am trying to make a box that is truly a sub box, nothing over 40-45hz my main speakers cover above 45hz great. but i fuckin LOVE 15hz! i have 2 12 woofers coming but i can't get the t&s parameters on them, they are too old(dcm kx212 replacements)...

(Coco Master) I have two massive audio subs. spec rating on paper is not true, so I contacted massive audio and they told me 4.0 cubes and a 30 square inch port... My question is should I make an open air box with bracing or cut the specs they gave me in half for two separate chambers?

(Jason Martinez) Is it possible to make a 1.5 cubic feet box and tune at 32 for an 8 inch sub?

(steve jr) Thank you for this great video man. Can i ask some questions about tuning?

(Scorpio Audio ELECTRONICS) please share this software ,

(Adam Renfrow) After watching this video, I want to pay you to design my box for me. Lol. Do you do that?

(Lee Roxburgh) Great video, I have a question, how the spl be with the bigger port area applications? So 40hz with 12*1 play with the same output as 12*3?

(The Invention Show) can you explain why you see some measurements on -3db what it show to us??

(R3) Oh man! I learned something new today! Thanks man!!

(hippo potamus) 1:03 Ive wondered about ports that are that small. If you can have that 4cu volume would that port be good or would it act more like a leaky sealed box?

(hippo potamus) Can you have a port that while tuned low is so large that the subwoofers won't have enough force to move the air in and out of it? or is this not a consideration?

(Josh M) Great video, would be cool If you talked about port resonance as well. I've never payed attention to it until a week ago after someone brought it up and I confirmed my 18 has a horrible noise at the resonance frequency. I've heard the noise in the past but didn't realize it was the port resonance frequency doing that. It's not an issue in my case as that's at 128Hz, but they were thinking of building a sub with it at 86Hz and we're thinking that'll sound horrible with that resonance frequency being in the area he wants to play. Heard the general rule of thumb with that is make sure it's an octave above where you want to play. Like if you want to play 80Hz and below, make sure it's not lower than 160Hz. I wonder if additional bracing would dampen it out, or build the box in a way to cancel it out using math and dimensions that line up with the frequency.

(Thumper) To large of a box causes over excursion for sure. I think lining the walls of the box with Poly fill can help with this some. I am going to probably test this today since I’m going to be building a box similar to box 2. For a 12” alpine. Calls for 1.75 cu ft for ported box but I think I’ll build around 2 cu ft to about 30-32 hz. Going in a trailblazer. I just can’t decide if I should go with sub up or back. I think I’ll do both port and sub facing back.

(DuDeZoNe) Awesomme as always.. Wow just like xmas Ask and you recieve.. Thankyou

(Juan Martín van Keulen) Great video, thanks

(Harry72) Excellent very informative!
